Lyme Regis Coast Protection Works
West Dorset District Council's multi-million pound coast protection (including coastal slope stabilisation) scheme was officially opened on 4 April 2007 (Phase 2 environmental improvements).
The scheme is vital in order to save the town from destructive landslides and coastal erosion. The Phase 2 programme is now complete and was specially drawn up to minimise disruption wherever practical and to keep the town running as normally as possible. Bideford Quay

Wave goodbye to coastal defences - Managed retreat at Mullion Cove
The National Trust is currently finalising plans to abandon miles of coastline, allowing hundreds of properties to be flooded.
One area under careful scrutiny is Mullion Cove, on the edge of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Owned mostly by the Trust, the small harbour is proving increasingly expensive to protect from the advancing sea. Mullion Cove is one of a number of Trust sites short-listed for abandonment in a recently-completed study
Wavehub Cornwall
The proposed Wave Hub infrastructure project is an underwater offshore plug-in facility, to enable
wave energy converter device developers to connect their devices to the national grid. The Wave Hub
project was proposed by the South West of England Regional Development Agency (SWRDA).
